Kisuke Manaka Tsuchime ATS-34 Nakiri 165mm Taihei Shitan Rosewood Handle

$878.00

We are happy to introduce to you a new maker here at Tosho Knife Arts: Kisuke Manaka. Since the inception of Manaka Hamono five generations ago, they have been specializing in hand-forged agricultural tools, shears, and kitchen knives. This means that they do not use pre-laminated billets of steel from a cladding company. Manaka Hamono pride themselves in the labour intensive hand-laminating, forging, heat treating, grinding, polishing, and final edge in house. This traditional method of tool making allows the talented craftsmen to bring out the best properties of the steel, and maintain the highest possible standards that have been passed down to them by their forefathers. We believe that you can feel the heart and soul poured into each blade as you wield it. Our hope is that the user will enjoy preparing memorable meals with it for many years to come, and maybe one day pass the blade on to the next generation.

Nakiri is a versatile blade that excels in processing large amounts of vegetables and the rectangular shape is also very useful to pick up all the chopped bits!
